The Nevada SMS is produced by Stock-Trak, Inc. Stock-Trak is one of the top providers of stock market simulation programs for the educational market. At the college level, the Stock-Trak website is used by nearly 900 professors each year and has been providing simulations since 1990.

Since 1997, Stock-Trak has been promoting a high school version called the SMS (Stock Market Simulation). This program has been adopted by several Councils on Economic Education that are affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education and EconomicsAmerica. In some states where there is not a Council affiliation, Stock-Trak also works with other educational programs such as the Newspapers in Education network. The SMS is a fantastic tool to help teachers use the stock market to teach economics, social studies, math, and computers and technology.
